Columbian Cundinamarca Coffee
Columbia is renowned for its coffee, as are most of the South American countries and much like the rest of South America, coffee has been grown here for hundreds of years, arriving in Columbia during the mid-16th century. Due to the mythical period in which it was believed it took to grow, many were suspicious of taking up this most fastidious of beverages, but eventually sense won out with the help of a village priest and the planting of only a few coffee trees. It was from here that Columbia was to become one of the most successful coffee producers in the world. South American coffee dominates the world coffee market for a reason and Columbian coffee is no exception. In this post we take a look at Cundinamarca, and why we believe your palate deserves this most sophisticated of coffees.
What can you expect from Columbian Cundinamarca?
Sweet, nutty and rich:If you like sweet coffee, then this is the one for you. It’s usually far better to try any coffee dark with no milk or sugar, but if you do miss your sweetness, then the Cundinamarca should give your sweet tooth a satisfying fix. Its sweetness is marked by a citrusy fruitiness that comes with a sharp acidity, much as you’d find in a piece of fruit. This gorgeous coffee is complex, well balanced and rich, with that beautiful sweetness redolent of oranges and notes of honey with a hint of nuttiness. It’s been roasted light so you’ll enjoy all those flavours to the full. If you like your coffee sweet then you might find that the Cundinamarca is everything you want it to be, with the versatility to be enjoyed in-between and after most meals.
